About Us

AMAT UK’s positive outlook as an organisation comes from the wealth of backgrounds, experience and skills that make up our people – staff and residents – the AMAT community.

AMAT was established in 1997 with just one house and has grown to be the largest provider of supported accommodation in Medway.  We also accommodate homeless people in Maidstone.  We are a very experienced frontline service and we work closely with over 50 local statutory and voluntary agencies.

Homeless people and those at risk of homelessness are referred to AMAT and our community space The Hive, from multiple agencies such as Local Authorities, police and other voluntary organisations.

We have properties available to accommodate adult homeless individuals and couples, along with their pets.

This makes us a unique supported accommodation provider in the local area.

We manage a total of 109 properties, accommodating 300 homeless people every year, including families who stay in our Temporary Accommodation.

We like to call homeless people who stay in our supported accommodation – residents – as it champions our values.
We are proud of the fact that we employ ex-residents and others with lived experience of homelessness, as we believe it creates a better service.

How you can help AMAT

There are lots of ways in which you can help support AMAT to ensure that we can continue to provide our support to the homeless and vulnerable people in Medway.
